The progression and development of federalism have had significant impacts on our civil liberties and civil rights in several ways, such as the issue of equality. However, from the beginning of the civil war, there have been gradual changes, such as the introduction of dual federalism. Federalism is defined as the power division between the central government and its sub-units or rather the states. Shortly after, the civil war, the US federal government started to grow its powers around itself.
